Pony Treks are sent off daily as required. No discount for children as horses are hired from many individual Basotho owners. Small children wanting to go on pony treks can take a walking guide @ R20 per hour extra to lead the horses.
Overnight Pony Treks rates are per person per day, plus night in village: From 1 day – 6 days or longer on request.
Overnight Pony Treks rates exclude meals and are self-catering. Request a quote for a fully catered pony trek
Please bring food and a sleeping bag for trek. Sleeping bags are available for hire at the lodge if you don’t have your own.
Medical insurance number required for an emergency exit and wearing of supplied helmets compulsory.
If you are doing overnight pony treks or hikes, please ask for the pony trek info to be emailed to you.
Giving tips are optional. We are always asked about tips for pony trek guides. We suggested you give R40.00 per day per group. This is entirely optional, as the horses are hired from the horse owners. Old clothes are always appreciated as a tip and for the Malealea Development Trust.
